Food processing, making food hygienic and pleasurable to eat
If seen from another perspective we will see that food processing is a system of preserving food which has been used for hundreds of years now. Earlier, common methods such as use of salts and sugar and sun-drying were used to process cooked or raw food. But now the process of food processing has evolved into complex procedures like cleaning of food, removing unwanted things like bones from meat, adding preservatives to make it stay fresh for a longer period of time, preserving them in cold storage, adding ingredients that make that food rich in nutrition and excellent in taste and last but not the least, packing them in containers that keep them eatable for a long time. This whole procedure also includes steps like making arrangements so they reach to their customers safely. The most general aim of the food processing industry is to make food tasty, ready to eat but still maintaining its nutritious value and no compromise on the quality. Every possible effort is made to keep chemicals that act as preservatives to minimum.
The food processing industry is blooming very fast because they are also making processed food for people suffering from different diseases and health problems. Processed food such as sugar free food for diabetic patients and those with high level of sugar, less oily and zero oil food for obese and heart patients, pregnant and old people. Machines like dryers, machines used for pasteurization, containers used for storing, conveyors, mixers, deep fryers, slice making machine, fillers, choppers, cutters, automatic loading system and quality examining machines are used for food processing. There is no compromise at all when there is a question of maintaining quality and hygiene of the food.
