How to Avoid Loss of Valuable Data by Converting OST files into PST files

When you work online with Outlook and the mailbox on your Microsoft Exchange server, you can receive mails as and when it arrives while the mail you send is sent immediately. However, this is not always a very practical way of working with your Exchange server especially if the connection to the server cannot be guaranteed. It is possible that because of your location, the connection can be fairly erratic ' at other times, you might not want to stay connected in order to save on the connection fees. However, imagine that you have drafted a very important message, have made some calendar entries and you lose connection to the server at the very moment, causing you to lose most of your changes. It is therefore very practical at times to work offline instead, using Outlook and its ability to store a copy of the mailbox in the form of offline folders (OST files). After frequent usage, when OST files become inaccessible, we can always use recovery tools to convert OST to PST (personal folder files) so that Outlook can still easily access them.

When you are connected to the Exchange server, your incoming and outgoing messages are automatically saved in the mailbox on the server. Therefore, when you stay connected, you have the benefit of being able to use all the functionality of Outlook such as moving mails around, opening various items, moving the items to different folders and even deleting items. However, offline folders, stored as OST files on your computer, give you the same functionality. The OST file is simply a copy or replica of the Exchange mailbox when you begin though you can make changes in your local copy when you are offline. Once you go online, you can immediately synchronize this OST file with the server mailbox thereby ensuring that both copies stay the same. In situations where the OST file becomes damaged, it is helpful to use sophisticated tools such as Advanced Exchange Recovery to restore the data in the OST file, convert OST to PST and then use Outlook to access the information.

Advanced Exchange Recovery comes with features superior to many recovery tools that perform a similar function. One of its most noteworthy features is that its uses a highly advanced search algorithm that enables it to carry out fairly deep scans, locating and restoring items easily missed by other tools. Further, this tool is one of the few tools that can restore massive OST files. With growing businesses and networks having OST files that easily run into terabytes, Advanced Exchange Recovery is one of the few tools that can restore such big files as well. Finally, while it can easily restore such big OST files, it nevertheless converts OST to PST files that are of manageable size by splitting up the final PST file into a number of smaller files.
